The greatest labour in the mission of redemption has already been accomplished by the LORD Himself.
Heaven did not merely announce salvation from afar; Heaven came down in the person of JESUS CHRIST.
Hebrews 2:3–4 reveals that this great salvation “began to be spoken by the LORD” and was afterward confirmed by witnesses, with GOD Himself bearing witness through signs, wonders, miracles, and gifts of the HOLY GHOST.
The gospel is not a human invention; it is Heaven’s message, preached first by JESUS and endorsed by the GODHEAD.
This means the foundation of the Harvest has already been laid. The seed has already been planted. The work of redemption did not begin with us, and it does not depend on human wisdom to survive. The LORD Himself initiated it through the giving of HIS own life.
JESUS spoke concerning this mystery in John 12:24: “I assure you, most solemnly I tell you. Unless a grain of wheat falls into the earth and dies, it remains (just one grain; it never becomes more but lives) by itself alone. But if it dies, produces many others and yields a rich Harvest.”
HE was speaking of Himself. CHRIST became Heaven’s seed planted into the earth through death, burial, and resurrection. HIS sacrifice was not loss, it was divine sowing. The cross became the ground into which the Life of GOD was planted so that many sons might come into glory.
Hebrews 2:10 further declares that it pleased the FATHER, “in bringing many sons unto glory,” to make the Captain of their salvation perfect through sufferings.
The vision of Heaven has always been multiplication. GOD did not intend for CHRIST to remain alone; HIS desire was for many sons to emerge from the sacrifice of ONE.
And now JESUS has been lifted up. As HE declared in John 12:32, “And I, if and when I am lifted up from the earth (on the cross), will draw and attract all men (Gentiles as well as Jews) unto MYSELF.”
The drawing has already begun. Across nations, cities, campuses, streets, and homes, hearts are being stirred by the SPIRIT of GOD. Men are hungry, weary, broken, and searching. Heaven has planted, and now the fields are ripe for reaping.
This is where the labourers come in.
The call upon every believer is to enter into the Harvest and reap what Heaven has already planted.
We are not called to manufacture life; we are called to gather men into the Life already released through CHRIST.
The seed has been sown by the blood of JESUS. The responsibility of the labourer is now to go into the fields and bring in the Harvest; some thirtyfold, some fiftyfold, some a hundredfold.
Yet this call is not a call to labour alone. The Harvest was never designed to be carried by human strength or sustained by personal ability.
The LORD who sends the labourer also journeys with him. We do not enter the field abandoned to our own wisdom, strategies, or capacities; we labour in partnership with Heaven. The HOLY SPIRIT is given as Helper, Guide, Strengthener, and Empowerer for the assignment. It is CHRIST Himself working through yielded vessels, drawing men unto Himself.
This is why the burden of the Harvest should not produce fear in the heart of the labourer. The pressure of results does not rest upon man alone, because the increase belongs to GOD.
We sow, we water, we proclaim, but it is the LORD of the Harvest who gives life and brings increase. The labourer is not called to strive independently, but to walk in continual dependence upon the ONE who planted the seed from the beginning.
What a privilege this is: to partner with Heaven in gathering souls for the Kingdom.
The Harvest is not a small assignment. It is Heaven’s great burden. Every soul reached is a testimony that the sacrifice of CHRIST was not in vain. Every man brought into the knowledge of GOD becomes part of the increase Heaven longed for when JESUS laid down HIS life.
Yet the labourers are still few.The call is still going forth for men and women willing to join the train of labour. Not spectators. Not admirers from a distance. But labourers who will carry the gospel, proclaim CHRIST, disciple men, and gather souls into the Kingdom.
This is the hour to arise. The fields are ready. The seed has already been planted by the LORD Himself. Heaven now searches for hands willing (Harvesters hand) to reap.
And as you step into the field, remember this: you do not go alone. The LORD of the Harvest walks with HIS labourers, supplies grace for the work, strengthens weary hands, and confirms HIS Word through yielded vessels.
Will you answer the call? Will you step into the field and labour with the LORD of the Harvest?
For the Harvest is ripe, and Heaven still waits for willing labourers.
