The Harvest has always been close to the heart of GOD. From the beginning, HIS desire has been to gather men unto Himself, bringing many sons into glory through the finished work of CHRIST.
Yet wherever there is a Harvest, there will always be resistance. The enemy understands the value of a single soul and the eternal impact of a yielded labourer. For this reason, he wages war against both the seed and the harvest field.
JESUS declared, “The Harvest truly is plenteous, but the labourers are few”(Matthew 9:37). The scarcity of labourers is not merely a result of human weakness; it is also the result of relentless opposition.
Satan knows that a believer who understands the burden of the Harvest becomes a threat to the kingdom of darkness. Therefore, his strategy is to hinder the labourer before the Harvest can be gathered.
One of his primary tools is distraction.
A distracted labourer may remain busy yet become ineffective. Attention is diverted from the burden of souls to lesser pursuits, causing eternal priorities to be exchanged for temporary concerns.
The enemy understands that he does not always need to stop a believer; sometimes he only needs to redirect his focus.
Many fields remain unreaped not because labourers are absent, but because labourers have become occupied with things that carry little eternal value.
Another weapon is fear.
Fear silences witnesses, weakens conviction, and prevents many from stepping into their GOD-given assignment.
Fear of rejection, fear of failure, fear of inadequacy, and even fear of persecution have kept many labourers at the edge of the field. Yet GOD has never called men based on their sufficiency; HE calls them based on HIS grace.
The labourer who understands this truth becomes difficult for the enemy to restrain.
The enemy also employs compromise.
A compromised vessel loses spiritual authority and effectiveness. The Harvest requires labourers whose lives align with the message they proclaim.
Whenever conviction is exchanged for convenience, the power of witness is weakened. The enemy knows that corruption within can often accomplish more damage than opposition from without.
Another subtle strategy is discouragement and weariness.
The enemy seeks to convince labourers that their efforts are insignificant, their prayers unanswered, and their labour unfruitful. Yet Harvest is often unseen before it becomes visible.
Seeds spend a season hidden beneath the soil before they emerge. Many abandon their assignment simply because they do not recognize that the field is closer to Harvest than they realize.
The enemy also uses division and offense.
He understands that unity strengthens labour while division weakens it. Relationships among labourers become targets because a divided workforce cannot maximize the field.
Wherever strife flourishes, productivity diminishes. The enemy’s goal is not merely to attack individuals but to weaken the collective advancement of the Kingdom.
Closely related to this is deception.
The enemy constantly seeks to redefine truth, distort priorities, and dilute conviction. He understands that a deceived labourer may still be active while unknowingly working outside GOD’S purpose.
This is why discernment remains indispensable in the season of Harvest.
Yet none of these weapons are greater than GOD’S provisions. The LORD has supplied HIS SPIRIT, HIS Word, and HIS power for the work of the Harvest.
As Acts 1:8 declares, “Ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me.”
The HOLY SPIRIT remains Heaven’s answer to every strategy of darkness. HE strengthens weary hands, renews vision, sharpens discernment, and empowers effective witness.
The labourer must therefore remain vigilant, prayerful, and steadfast. We must guard our hearts against distraction, resist fear, reject compromise, overcome discouragement, and preserve unity.
We must remain rooted in GOD’S Word and continually dependent upon HIS SPIRIT.The enemy may oppose the Harvest, but he cannot cancel what GOD has ordained.
The same LORD who sends labourers into the field is the LORD who prepares hearts, convicts souls, and brings increase. We sow and water, but GOD gives the increase.
The fields are already white unto Harvest. Across families, campuses, communities, cities, and nations, hearts are being prepared by the SPIRIT of GOD.
Men and women are searching for hope, truth, and life. The question is not whether there is a Harvest; the question is whether there will be labourers willing to respond.
Therefore, refuse distraction. Refuse compromise. Refuse discouragement. Refuse every strategy designed to pull you away from your assignment.
Lift up your eyes and look on the fields, for they are already ripe unto Harvest.
The battle is real, but the outcome is certain. The LORD of the Harvest has never lost a field entrusted to HIM.
Every opposition has an expiration date, every stronghold can be pulled down, and every barrier to the gospel must eventually bow before the authority of CHRIST.
So arise, labourer. Stand your ground.
Keep praying, keep proclaiming, keep sowing, and keep gathering.
For the LORD of the Harvest walks with HIS labourers, and the Harvest that Heaven has prepared shall surely be reaped.
