One of the greatest gifts GOD gives a man is not merely a career, influence, achievement, or public success, but the revelation of HIS eternal purpose. Scripture consistently reveals that GOD never creates without intention.
“For by HIM were all things created… all things were created by HIM, and for HIM” (Colossians 1:16).
Every life originates from GOD, is sustained by GOD, and finds its true fulfillment only in GOD. Yet many spend their lives pursuing accomplishments while neglecting the One for whom they were created.
This realization confronted me profoundly when I was twenty-one years old. At the time, I had just entered my clinical years in medical school. By every outward measure, my future appeared promising. I was progressing academically, and those around me saw stability, potential, and success. However, beneath that visible progress was an inward hunger that refused to be silenced.
Questions began to rise within me with increasing urgency: Why am I here? What is the essence of life? Who am I truly living for?
What troubled me most was not the fear of failure, but the possibility of succeeding in the wrong pursuit. I became increasingly aware that a man could gain the admiration of people and yet miss the very reason for which GOD created him.
The words of JESUS became deeply personal to me: “For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?” (Mark 8:36). That question exposed the difference between human ambition and divine priority.
In my search for answers, I began having conversations with my parents. Their responses were meaningful, but a simple statement from my father became a defining moment: “You are now an adult. Nobody should make you do what you don’t want to do.” Those words awakened a deep conviction within me. I realized that the most important decision of my life could no longer be postponed. I had to choose CHRIST for myself.
Looking back, I now understand that those persistent questions were not signs of confusion; they were evidence that GOD was drawing me to HIMSELF (John 6:44). What I perceived as an interruption was actually a divine summons into HIS eternal purpose. Like Saul on the road to Damascus (Acts 9:3–6), my carefully arranged plans were interrupted by a greater reality. I encountered not merely a new direction, but the PERSON of JESUS CHRIST. That encounter reordered my priorities.
From that moment, the vision of my life ceased to revolve around personal ambition and became anchored in CHRIST. GOD began to unfold HIS purpose season by season, and I discovered that vision is not something a man manufactures; it is something GOD progressively reveals to those who walk with HIM. As Proverbs 4:18 declares, “The path of the just is as the shining light, that shineth more and more unto the perfect day.”
I have learned that the greatest turning points in life are often disguised as interruptions. What I once called uncertainty was, in truth, the loving pursuit of GOD, drawing me away from a life I had planned into the life HE had ordained. Ephesians 2:10 confirms this reality: “For we are HIS workmanship, created in CHRIST JESUS unto good works, which GOD hath before ordained that we should walk in them.”
Therefore, the greatest success is not found in achieving personal ambition, but in embracing divine priorities and faithfully fulfilling GOD’S intention.
A life anchored in CHRIST is a life governed by eternity.
When CHRIST becomes the center, purpose becomes clear, priorities are reordered, and every step becomes part of GOD’S unfolding plan.
